Comcast Xfinity

As of 2015, Comcast has an "excellent" rating and a 9.83 ranking on a scale of 1 to 10. Comcast Xfinity excels when it comes to connection speed, additional features and service options. In several service areas, Comcast Xfinity offers speeds up to 105 Mbps. One potential downfall to Comcast Xfinity is that the service is not available in all U.S. states.

Time Warner Cable

As of 2015, Time Warner Cable also has an "excellent" rating with a ranking of 9.5 on a scale of 1 to 10. The service offers connection speeds of up to 50 Mbps in certain service areas and serves over 10 million customers throughout the United States. Time Warner Cable's highest ratings are for connection speed and additional features. Similar to Comcast Xfinity and several other providers, Time Warner Cable is not available in every state.


As of 2015, Verizon has a ranking of 9 on a scale of 1 to 10 with the highest ratings going to connection speeds and support options. Verizon offers both fiber optic and DSL services, and all service packages include a free modem. Connection speeds typically range between 15 and 300 Mbps, depending on service areas and packages. Verizon also offers various bundle packages with home phone and cable services. While Verizon's fiber optic network continues to grow, as of 2015, the service is not available in all states.


As of 2015, AT&T offers fiber optic services, fast DSL services, dial-up services and telephone bundle packages throughout the United States; however, its high-speed Internet service is only available in select areas. AT&T offers speeds up to 45 Mbps, but specific speeds can vary depending on service areas and package details. With a ranking of 8.38 on a scale of 1 to 10, AT& T received its highest ratings for connection speeds, additional services and support options.
